| Lot 51 | A worksplate, AVELING & PORTER, 4851 from a 10 ton steam road roller, fitted with compound cylinders and overhead slide valves, which was ex works on 26 September 1901. It was exported to Europe as the customer was a Mr H.H.Meyer of Riga in Latvia. No further details are available, but it seems likely that the roller was scrapped and the worksplate retained leading to its eventual purchase by a collector. Engraved brass, 10¾"x8", the front lightly cleaned and characters painted. £200-350 |
