A South Eastern Railway guards cap badge, a pattern issued briefly in June 1897 in connection with the Queen's Jubilee celebrations and used solely by Guards on the special trains between Dover and London conveying foreign royalty and dignitaries attending the celebrations in London. The design was discontinued at the end of that month. Gilt on black felt, 3"x2¼". The badge was found in the former Southern Railway clothing stores. £50-80 |
