A numberplate, No. 62002, 1949, from a Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 26606, and allocated new to Darlington on 1 June 1949. Its later sheds were Heaton, Blaydon from 1952 to 1962, Consett, South Blyth and North Blyth from where it was withdrawn on 31 October 1966 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckow of Blyth, received there on 13 March 1967. Engraved brass, 12¼"x6¾", the front polished. £200-350 |
