| Lot 370 | A GWR cabside numberplate, 3853, from a 2884 Class 2-8-0 built at Swindon in June 1942. Allocated to Old Oak Common by January 1948 and later Severn Tunnel Junction, Ebbw Junction, Cardiff Canton, Aberdare and finally back to Severn Tunnel Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 14 December 1963 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Risca on 28 February 1964. Cast iron, in ex loco condition. £450-700 |
