A worksplate, LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 1584, DONCASTER, 1924, from a LNER O2 Class 2-8-0 No 3496 built in February 1924, renumbered 3941 in 1946, becoming BR 63941. Allocated to Frodingham by January 1948 and later Langwith Junction, Doncaster for eleven years and Grantham from where it was withdrawn on 3 September 1963 and sold for scrap to William Rigley & Sons of Bulwell Forest. Fully engraved brass, 13¼"x7¾", the front lightly polished, the back stamped 3496. £700-1000 |
