A locomotive headboard, THE HEART OF MIDLOTHIAN, as carried on the Kings Cross to Edinburgh (Waverley) service introduced on 3 May 1951 to coincide with the Festival of Britain. Its last titled run was on 4 May 1968. Cast aluminium, the front repainted, the back in original condition and marked Return to Kings Cross. The top of the rim is stamped EMP A3/2 (Eastern Motive Power A3 and A2), a reference to the classes of loco which could carry this headboard. £1500-2500 |
