A worksplate, No. 2078, DONCASTER, 1951, from a (LMS) Class 4 2-6-0 No 43108 allocated new to New England on 25 May 1951. It moved a month later to South Lynn where it spent eight years working on Midland & Great Northern lines before departing in March 1959 to Boston and later Colwick, New England, Barrow Hill, Canklow and Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn on 14 November 1965 and sold for scrap to Cox & Danks at Wadsley Bridge. Engraved brass, 12¼"x6½", the front lightly polished, the back marked 43108. £400-600 |
