A GWR cabside numberplate, 6921, from the 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 BORWICK HALL built at Swindon in July 1941 and named in January 1948 after the house two miles from Carnforth now run by Lancashire County Council as an outdoor activity centre. Allocated to Worcester by January 1948 and later Gloucester, Laira, Didcot, Reading and Oxford from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 9 October 1965 and cut up at Banbury shed by James Friswell, the nearby scrap merchant. Cast brass, in ex loco condition. £900-1200 |
