A worksplate, PECKETT, 1402, 1915, from a standard gauge Peckett type B2 0-6-0ST named PROGRESS, new in May 1915 to Desborough Co-operative Society at Desborough Ironstone Mines, Northants. The company later became a subsidiary of the South Durham Steel & Iron Co and in 1926 they sent PROGRESS to Blackwell & Son, Northampton for overhaul. It moved from there to the company's Irchester Ironstone Quarries, Northants where it worked until sold for scrap to George Cohen, Sons & Co. Ltd, Cransley, Northants in December 1966. Engraved brass, 12"x9½", the front lightly polished. £300-400 |
