| Lot 88 | A worksplate, ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH, 1244, 1935, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5203 allocated new on loan to Crewe North on 28 October 1935 and later Bank Hall and Southport before moving in October 1943 to Newton Heath where it spent nearly twenty-five years. Withdrawn from Newton Heath in the week ending 29 June 1968, it was cut up by Drapers at Hull in the week ending 22 February 1969. Cast brass, 8¼"x5", the front lightly cleaned, restoration to corners neatly undertaken. £150-300 |
