A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 2279, N.B. LOCO Co, 1920, from a Great North of Scotland Railway Class F 4-4-0 No 52 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 22565, in October 1920 and named GLEN GRANT after the residence of James Grant, a GNSR Director. It became LNER No 6852 and was renumbered 2279 in 1946, becoming BR 62279. At Kittybrewster by January 1948, it was withdrawn from there on 19 May 1955 and cut up at faraway Kilmarnock Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £300-500 |
