| Lot 74 | A GWR cabside numberplate, 3180, from a 3150 Class 2-6-2T built at Swindon in November 1907. Allocated to Tyseley by January 1948, it moved in February 1953 to Gloucester WR from where it was withdrawn on 23 October 1957 and cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 30 November 1957. This left hand side plate was damaged by shrapnel during an air raid at Newton Abbot on 20th August 1940; repairs can be seen in the lower right hand corner. Cast brass, the front repainted. £500-800 |
