| Lot 61 | A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 8117, COWLAIRS WORKS, 1897, from a North British Railway Class G 0-4-0ST No 63 built at Cowlairs in December 1897. It became LNER Y9 Class No 9063 and was renumbered 8117 in 1946, becoming BR 68117. It was allocated to Kipps throughout its BR days but spent numerous periods on hire to various industrial concerns in central Scotland. Following withdrawal from Kipps on 16 July 1962, it was cut up at Cowlairs Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front cleaned and repainted. £150-300 |
