A smokebox numberplate, 6830, from the GWR 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0, BUCKENHILL GRANGE, built at Swindon in August 1937 and named after the large house at Bromyard. A long time St Philips Marsh engine, it moved in January 1962 to Penzance and then Oxley from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 9 October 1965 and despatched for scrap to George Cohen at Kingsbury on 21 January 1966. Ex loco condition. £500-800 |
