A North Eastern Railway 12" roundhead clock in mahogany case of uncertain origin and date but probably in use at Lockington on the Hull to Scarborough route by 1933. Overall height: 14 inches. The case with a replaced bezel with clip-in sight ring. Box with single side door with one loose edge strip and bottom door with a turn lacking tongue. Dial written LNER 12054 with minor damage and some cracking and with the shadow of Hull in the lower half. Mid-19th century wire fusee movement between plates with feet, shaped shoulders joined by knopped pillars stamped ex Y.R.K twice on the front plate (hence not visible unless dismantled). Ex LNER records show that LNER 12054 was used at Kilnwick Gate, Lockington, an ex-NER station. Complete with replaced pendulum, bob scratched Carpenter, winding key and copy of LNER records for number 12054. Further Notes on line. £400-600 |
