A smokebox numberplate, 51246, from a Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 260 Class 0-4-0ST No 56 built at Horwich in June 1910, becoming LMS Class 0F No 11246 and BR 51246. These small tank engines were almost always known as Pugs. Allocated to Bank Hall by January 1935, where it spent all its later life apart from three years at Goole from 1947 until 1950. It was withdrawn in the week ending 7 October 1961 and cut up at Horwich Works on 27 October. Ex loco condition. £500-800 |
