A smokebox numberplate, 47230, from a Midland Railway 2441 Class 0-6-0T No 2751 built by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 1783, in 1902. Re-boilered in 1919, it was renumbered 1930 in 1907 and retained this number in LMS days until renumbered 7230 in 1934, becoming BR Class 3F No 47230. Allocated to Stoke by January 1935, it moved the following year to Upper Bank where it spent fourteen years before moving to nearby Swansea Paxton Street for a further seven years. Its later sheds included Bank Hall, Agecroft, Edge Hill and Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 7 November 1964 and despatched for scrap to Hughes Bolckow at Blyth on 8 February 1965.
