A LNER locomotive whistle from V2 class 60872, KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY, built at Doncaster, Works No 1898, in April 1939, as No 4843. It spent most of its working life at Doncaster from where it was withdrawn on 22 September 1963 and cut up at the nearby Works. Cast brass, mounted on a wooden stand, height 6½", a style unique to the V2 class. £300-500 |
