A nameplate, AIRBORNE from the LNER Thompson Class A2/3 4-6-2 No 511, BR 60511, built at Doncaster, Works No 2002, in July 1946 and named after the racehorse owned by Mr J.E. Ferguson which had then just won the 1946 Derby and St Leger. Allocated new to Gateshead, it moved in July 1946 to Heaton where it spent almost all its working life with a final year at Tweedmouth from where it was withdrawn on 12 November 1962 and cut up at Doncaster Works.
