| Lot 237 | A worksplate TANGSHAN, CHINA, October 1974, from a Class SY 2-8-2 in the number range 0892-0905. This is one of the rarer plates from the period when the railways and workshops came under the Ministry of Communications (rather than a separate Ministry of Railways). It is also very unusual for being made of cast iron - most were aluminium, 15¾"x7"; the plate has been broken and the current owner has made a repair by screwing a steel plate to the back, but it is otherwise in ex-loco condition. £150-300 |
