A mid to late 19th century 10" LYR drop-case clock No. 2105 in mahogany case. Overall height: 17". With replacements and repairs. The convex moulded one piece dial surround with repaired splits and holding a replaced bezel with clip-in sight ring. The box, lacking case stop, the top with standard LYR steel plate stamped 2105, the left side possible sanded but still with some pin holes (a common LYR feature) and the rear with typical BR E/NE repair notes suggesting possible transfer to this region after nationalisation. Dial repainted and written JNo. Agar L.Y.R. 2105 Bury in an approximation to the standard LYR style. Hands replaced. Wire fusee movement, requiring cleaning, between shaped plates with feet. Complete with replaced pendulum with large bob stamped 376 in typical LYR style and winding key. Est: £400-600 £500-800 |
