An LB&SCR 10" early 20th century mahogany cased roundhead clock number 1103 B used at Brighton. Overall height: 12¼". Dial surround with several glued splits and now pinned to the box but with pegs and battens still present. Cast brass bezel. Rear of box stamped 1103 B. door with original lock (no key). Dial written in standard Walker/BR(S) style including red Arabic 24 hour figures. Chain fusee movement between plain rectangular plates, rear plate stamped Jos J. Complete with pendulum with replaced bob, winding key and copy of the SR records showing it was supplied in 1914 by the Clerkenwell firm of J. Jennens for £2-0-6 and used in the waste cleaning shop at Brighton, later moved to the telephone repair hut. £500-800 |
