A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, No 26141, 1947, from a LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 No 1240, BR 61240, built in October 1947 and named HARRY HINCHLIFFE after the LNER (N.E. Area) Director (1944-47) who died on 16 April 1980. Allocated new to York and later Neville Hill, Thornaby, Ardsley and Wakefield from where it was withdrawn on 6 December 1966 and sold for scrap to Arnott Young at Parkgate & Rawmarsh on 16 February 1967. Cast white brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. £400-600 |
