A worksplate, ROBERT STEPHENSON & Co Ltd, 3391, 1910, from a Rhymney Railway A Class 0-6-2T, RR No 14, one of a class designed for freight traffic. When the Rhymney was absorbed by the GWR in January 1922 the loco was taken into GWR stock, renumbered GWR 56 and allocated to Dowlais. Its later years were spent at Cardiff Cathays and Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn on 28 September 1953 and cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 30 January 1954. Cast brass, 11"x5¼", the front lightly cleaned. £400-600 |
