A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, HYDE PARK WORKS, 24343, 1936, from a LMS Class 4 2-6-4T No 2587, which became BR 42587. Allocated new to Edge Hill on 14 October 1936, it moved in 1940 to Chester LM where it remained until moving to Kentish Town in 1956. Its later sheds included Nottingham, Springs Branch, Birkenhead and Low Moor from where it was withdrawn on 12 June 1967 and taken for scrap by Drapers at Hull on 20 January 1968. Engraved brass, 6¼" diameter, the face lightly cleaned, service knocks in places. £150-300 |
