A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 62726, DARLINGTON, 1929, from a LNER D49 Class 4-4-0 No 352 built at Darlington in March 1929. Named LEICESTERSHIRE when built, it was renamed THE MEYNELL in June 1932 after the foxhunt operating in the Leicester and Loughborough area. It was renumbered 2726 in 1946 and became BR 62726. It was at Starbeck by January 1948 and later York North and Scarborough from where it was withdrawn on 18 December 1957 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", in ex loco condition. £500-800 |
