A nameplate, PEMBERTON, together with its matching worksplate, HAWTHORN LESLIE, 3878, 1936, from a standard gauge 0-6-0ST new to Pemberton Colliery Ltd (later National Coal Board) at Pemberton Colliery, Lancashire. It moved to Ince Moss Colliery in 1947 and was loaned to Chiswell Hall Colliery in 1950 before being temporarily stored at Welch Whittle Colliery in 1960. Circa December 1960 it was transferred to Huncoat Colliery where it was renamed FALCON. In March 1968 it was sent to William Pit at Whitehaven where it was scrapped by John Roper (Workington) Ltd in April 1969. The nameplate cast brass, 42" long, the worksplate cast brass, 13"x8 ½", the fronts repainted. (2) £600-900 |
