A worksplate, BUILT BY AND ON LOAN TO LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co, 1949, DARLINGTON WORKS, 1945, from a Stanier type 2-8-0 No 8543, BR 48543, built to Railway Executive Committee order and allocated new to Aberdeen Ferryhill on 11 January 1945. Its later sheds included St Margarets, Coalville, Wellingborough, Toton, Heaton Mersey, Warrington Dallam, Gorton and Newton Heath from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 12 February 1966 and despatched for scrap to T.W. Ward at Beighton on 6 May 1966. Fully engraved brass, 13½"x7¾", in ex loco condition. £400-600 |
