A Pullman Car table lamp, from Car Ursula, built as part of an order of 29 vehicles. Ursula was constructed in 1928 as a first-class parlour car by the Metropolitan Carriage, Wagon & Finance Company Ltd at Saltley, Birmingham. Its interior was distinguished by figured thuya veneers and bright chintz chair moquette. Used on many services, including the 'Queen of Scots' and 'Bournemouth Belle', it was retired from service in July 1967 and subsequently preserved. The table lamp is an original A-type from the car; the side of the lamp is marked with the car name and is complete with switch. £500-800 |
