A worksplate, J. STALINA, 1694, 1951, from a Russian State Rlys (SZD) 5ft gauge 0-10-0 Class Er No. 787-10. The Stalina works was in fact the former Cegielski factory in Poznan, Poland, renamed as an act of political correctness in the Soviet Bloc in 1952. The name reverted to Cegielski by the late 1950s. This class was the world's largest class of locomotives (11,000 E class and derivatives built by numerous manufacturers from 1912 to 1957). Cast aluminium, 15¾"x7¾", repainted. £80-120 |
