A smokebox numberplate, 32581, from a London Brighton & South Coast Railway E4 Class 0-6-2T No 581 built at Brighton in September 1903 and named WARNINGCAMP after a village in the Company's territory, although the name was removed before the end of 1910. It retained its LBSCR number in SR days but was later renumbered 2581 and became BR 32581. At Tunbridge Wells by January 1948, it spent most of its BR days there before moving in March 1961 to Brighton from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 7 April 1962 and cut up at Ashford Works the following week. Unrestored. £400-600 |
