Lot 434 |
A worksplate, CEGIELSKI, 1382, 1949, from a standard gauge Ty45 class 2-10-0 of the type widely used on PKP (Polish State Railways), an improved version of the pre-war Ty37 2-10-0. A total of 448 locomotives of this class were designed and built in Poland. This particular one was not numbered in the PKP series, but given its works number as its running number, becoming Ty45-1382, as was the practice with the 20 or so that were delivered direct to industry. It worked all its life at Kopalnia (Coal mine) Ziemowit, near Katowice in Upper Silesia. Withdrawn in the late 1970s. Cast aluminium, 12"x8½", curved with bevelled edge, the front cleaned. £100-200 |
