| Lot 40 | A smokebox numberplate, 4238, from a GWR 4200 Class 2-8-0T built at Swindon in October 1914. At Pontypool Road by January 1948, its later sheds were Cardiff Canton, Aberbeeg, Newport Pill and Ebbw Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 14 December 1963 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Newport on 29 September 1964. Ex loco condition. £250-400 |
