A nameplate, JEAN, cast brass, 22½" long, the front of the plate repainted, together with its matching worksplate, Hawthorn Leslie 2769, 1909, cast brass, 13"x8½", cleaned but unpainted. From a 0-6-0T which went new to Wearmouth Coal Co Ltd at Wearmouth Colliery and remained there on the formation of the National Coal Board in January 1947, when the Colliery became part of NCB Area No 1. Following rebuilding the loco returned to Wearmouth where it worked until scrapped in 1971. (2) £500-800 |
