Auction Catalogue: Great Central Railwayana, 3 December 2016
Lot 292 |
A worksplate, SCHNEIDER, PARIS. It seems highly probable from the 0-4-0 and TB80 scratched on the back of this plate that it came from the SNCF loco numbered 040.TB.80. It was originally built as a 2-4-2 in the Paris Works of PLM, their No 424. It was rebuilt in 1926 as an 0-8-0T No 040.TB.80 by Schneider of Le Creusot. This probably explains the lack of a works number on the plate. It was scrapped in 1960 after service in Region Sud-Est and/or Mediterranee who had the class allocated to 14 depots. Cast brass, 8"x4¾", in ex loco condition. £100-200 |
