Lot 213 |
A worksplate, CHRZANOV, 1713, 1946, from a Polish 75cm gauge 0-4-0 side tank of class Ryú, built for industry. This engine worked most of its life at the Kruszwica Sugar Factory east of Poznan. It was subsequently preserved at the main PKP station at Konin but has since moved to the tourist office at its birthplace, Chrzanov. This plate is one of the last in the decorative art deco style adopted by the company in the 1920s; the following year the communists replaced it with a plain rectangle. Cast aluminium, 11¾"x6½", cleaned and the front repainted. £100-200 |
