A nameplate, BRYN-IVOR Hall, from a (GWR) 6959 Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No 6997 built at Swindon in January 1949 and named after the large house at Marshfield, south-west of Newport, Gwent, demolished in 1950. Allocated new to Bristol Bath Road on 19 January 1949, it spent all its working life at one or other of the three Bristol sheds until withdrawn from Bristol Barrow Road in the week ending 14 November 1964. It was sold for scrap to Hayes at Bridgend on 12 January 1965. Ex loco condition; the only Hall nameplate with a hyphen. £6000-9000 |
