A GWR cabside numberplate, 6803, from the 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 BUCKLEBURY GRANGE built at Swindon in September 1936 and named after the large house five miles north-east of Newbury. At Banbury by January 1948, it moved in 1951 to Stourbridge and later Tyseley and Oxley from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 25 September 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Long Marston on 28 October 1965. Cast brass. The front repainted. £1500-1800 |
