A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 69114, HAWTHORN LESLIE, 1913, from a Hull & Barnsley Railway Class F3 0-6-2T No 27 built by Hawthorn Leslie & Co, Works No 3012, in January 1914. After the North Eastern Railway took over the H&BR in January 1922 it was renumbered 3027. It then became LNER N13 Class No 2419 in August 1924 and was renumbered 9114 in 1946, becoming BR 69114. It spent its final years at Neville Hill and was the last surviving H&BR engine when it was withdrawn from there on 22 October 1956 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front cleaned and repainted. £350-500 |
