| Lot 116 | A smokebox numberplate, 48725, from a LMS Stanier type 8F 2-8-0 built to LNER order by the SR at Brighton in September 1944 as LNER Class O6 No 7671 and allocated new to Mexborough. The LNER renumbered it to 3120 in 1946 and 3520 in 1947 before it was sent to the LMS in November 1947 who numbered it 8725 and allocated it to Wakefield. It moved in 1951 to Bescot where it remained until 1966 when it went to Saltley and then Crewe South from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 2 September 1967 and sold for scrap to J. Buttigieg at Newport on 14 November 1967. Ex loco condition. £300-500 |
