A worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, REBUILT 1920, from a South Eastern & Chatham Railway Class E 4-4-0 No 504 built at Ashford Works in 1905. It was one of ten rebuilt in 1920 by Beyer Peacock as a Class E1. It became No 1504 in SR days and BR 31504. At Bricklayers Arms by January 1948, it was withdrawn from there in February 1958 and cut up the following month. Cast brass, 10"x6", the front repainted, the back stamped 1504. £300-500 |
