A worksplate, KITSON & Co, LEEDS 1924, from an LNER D11 Class 4-4-0 built by Kitson in August 1924, LNER No 6380, renumbered 2673 in 1946, becoming BR 62673 and named EVAN DHU after the foster brother of Vich Ian Vohr in Sir Walter Scott's novel Waverley. A long time Eastfield loco, it was withdrawn from there on 15 July 1959 and cut up at Cowlairs Works, probably the following month. Engraved brass, 10¼"x6½", the front lightly polished. £600-900 |
