A nameplate, TANGLEY HALL, from the GWR 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 No 5939 built at Swindon in July 1933 and named after the hall near Burford, Oxfordshire. A long time Old Oak Common engine, it moved to Swindon in September 1962 and then Ebbw Junction from where it was withdrawn on 23 October 1964 and sold for scrap to Hayes at Bridgend on 10 December 1964. Ex loco condition. £5000-6000 |
