A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 2408, KITSON, 1911, from a Hull & Barnsley Class L 0-6-0 No 16 built by Kitson, Works No 4705, in December 1911. After the Hull & Barnsley amalgamated with the North Eastern Railway in January 1922, it became NER 3016. When the NER became part of the LNER it was classified as Class J28 and renumbered 2408 under the LNER 1924 renumbering scheme. It was withdrawn in October 1938. Cast iron, 9"x5", cracked and repaired, the front repainted, nevertheless a rare survivor. £350-500 |
