A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 61247, N.B. LOCO Co. 1947, from a LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 No 1247 built in October 1947 and named two months later LORD BURGHLEY after the 6th Marquess of Exeter who served as a LNER director from 1930 until 1947. As BR 61247 it spent most of its working life at Doncaster before moving in June 1960 to Colwick from where it was withdrawn on 12 June 1962 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £200-350 |
