A nameplate, CRANFORD No 2, from a standard gauge 0-6-0ST built by Bagnall, Works No 2668, which went new to Cranford Ironstone Co Ltd at Cranford Quarries in May 1942. It went to Pilton Quarries in 1946, returning to Cranford later the same year. Following withdrawal it was acquired in January 1970 by T.L. Barber at Overstone Park, Northampton. It currently resides at Rocks by Rail:The Living Ironstone Museum at Cottesmore, Rutland where it is described as operational. Cast brass, 41¼"x4¾", the front repainted. £700-1000 |
