A smokebox numberplate, 31835, from a South Eastern & Chatham Railway N Class 2-6-0 No A835 assembled by the Southern Railway at Ashford Works in July 1924 from parts produced at Woolwich Arsenal, except the boiler which came from the North British Locomotive Co. Later renumbered 1835, it became BR 31835. A long time Exmouth Junction engine, it was withdrawn from there during the week ending 5 September 1964 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Morriston the following 14 October. Ex loco condition. £400-600 |
