A nameplate, KIMBOLTON CASTLE, from the LNER B17 Class 4-6-0 No 2833 built at Darlington in May 1931, renumbered 1633 in 1946, becoming BR 61633. It was named when built after the ancestral home of the Dukes of Manchester, near Huntingdon. At Cambridge by January 1948 and from 1950 at March from where it was withdrawn on September 1959 and cut up at Doncaster Works. The plate is 59" long, the front repainted, and is displayed on a purpose made wooden splasher with replica 9 x 5, which is included in the sale.
