A worksplate, ROBERT STEPHENSON & Co 3774, 1919, WD CONT No 23P/1720/C1953, from a Robinson Great Central type 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Munitions order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers, ROD No 1747. Loaned to the NER in February 1920, returned to the ROD in August 1921 and stored at Aintree until acquired by the LNER in February 1925, becoming LNER O4 Class No 6501, renumbered 3732 in 1946, becoming BR 63732. At Hull Springhead by January 1948 and later Hull Dairycoates and Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn on 5 September 1965 and sold for scrap to Cox & Danks at Wadsley Bridge. Engraved brass, 11¼"x5¼", the front lightly cleaned. £400-600 |
