A GWR cabside numberplate, 9405, from a 9400 Class 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in May 1947. Only the first ten of this large class, Nos 9400-9409, were built by the GWR at Swindon, the remainder being built for British Railways by various private contractors. It spent most of its working life at Old Oak Common, shunting empty coaching stock in and out of Paddington, with spells at Reading and Southall, finishing its days at Bristol Barrow Road from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 12 June 1965 and sold for scrap to T.W. Ward at Briton Ferry the following 28 July. £900-1200 |
